Case Study
Sovereign Wealth Fund
About the Client
The client is one of Abu Dhabi's most prominent sovereign wealth funds, managing a vast portfolio of strategic assets across multiple sectors. With hundreds of billions of dollars under management, and hundreds of employees operating across investment, governance, and operational functions, the organisation handles an enormous volume of sensitive documents, data, and decision-making workflows daily.
The Situation
Hundreds of employees were losing hours every day searching for data across a fragmented document base. People often lacked the right permissions and had no way of knowing who held the answers they needed. Employees had begun using external AI tools that did not meet UAE data residency standards or the fund's security requirements, but without being able to upload sensitive data, these platforms were mostly just toys.
At the leadership level, board and committee meetings were preparation-intensive and reactive rather than insight-driven. The fund needed a sovereign, in-region AI platform that could serve both the workforce and the boardroom.

Product One: The Agentic Knowledge Engine
Dakai deployed a production-grade, LLM-powered knowledge platform capable of sweeping through over 40,000 documents on every query, built to run entirely in-region on sovereign infrastructure meeting all UAE regulatory requirements.
The system handles both tabular and non-tabular data, enabling employees to ask complex questions across financial reports, memos, policy documents, and receive accurate, contextualised answers in seconds. Beyond retrieval, the platform drafts files, generates communications, and supports document workflows directly from the query interface.
The platform has since evolved into a fully agentic system, automating thousands of workflows across the organisation through an MCP-ready architecture that connects natively to the fund's existing tools, enabling cross-platform actions and multi-step automations without engineering support.
Product Two: The Board Meeting Advisor
Dakai built the first board-level meeting advisor in the region that performed well enough to be adopted at the chairman level. For over a year, all management committee, executive committee, and board meetings have run through the platform.
Employees upload meeting materials in advance. During live meetings, participants query the system and receive responses drawn from the fund's entire document corpus plus an additional layer of highly sensitive documents, governed by robust role-based access controls. The advisor surfaces insights, fact-checks statements in real time, identifies new talking points, and supports decision-making through data-driven analysis.
The Technical Foundation
Looking Ahead
Together, these platforms have transformed the fund into one of the region's first truly AI-native enterprises. The knowledge engine eliminated hours of daily search time for hundreds of employees and removed the risk of data leaking to non-compliant tools. The board meeting advisor fundamentally changed how the fund's most senior leadership prepares for and conducts their most critical meetings. The MCP-ready architecture ensures every new system can be connected and every new workflow automated as the fund continues to scale.

The Solana Foundation partnered with Dakai to refresh the ecosystem page. Dakai took on the project to develop a page that was ground zero and absolutely crucial to the ecosystem and network.
